I spent hours agonising about what boat to choose and can happily say that Cachalote was a brilliant experience.

The downside first is that Cachalote is small, our room (no 7) was at the back and near the engine so on the sailing nights was noisy but no problem as the motion of the ocean more than compensates for any noise in rocking you to sleep. The best rooms were 1 and 8 for sure but we were more than happy with our bunk beds. Compared to other boats it does look a small boat, but at no time whilst on board was I anything but comfortable. The dining/socialising area is very spacious and the decks never felt overcrowded at all.

We have just got off Cachalote and would highly recommend that one. I would say its small but the service and guide were excellent.

I've just returned from the Galapagos and spent 7 Tage on the Cachalote. Had a fabulous time, and couldn't fault the boat. As you'd expect for a boat of that size the cabins are small but perfectly adequate (you're only in them to sleep oder shower anyway). The crew looked after us really well - nothing was too much trouble - and in particular the chef produced fab meals from a tiny galley.
